Announcing it here first....

The '54 Ford Club of America, 2018 Convention will be held in Memphis, TN the third weekend in September.

Details to come. However, based on what I already know, it's going to be fabulous.

That's a great time of the year - beyond the hustle and bustle of summer and maybe better rates on the hotels. Little cooler as well. Is there anything to do in Memphis? :) :) :)

It's too far for me to drive (call me chicken), but very doable driving modern. Hopefully I can make it.

I hope I'm able to make it. Nothing better than Gus's Chicken Shack!

Hey Chicken,I mean Andy :D

It's just 1,726 round trip for you, that's 525 miles less than we drove to Novi.Michigan.

If your not going to drive are you going to bring your car on a trailer?

I was asked on the club Facebook page if it would be in Memphis proper or a suburb.

The convention hotel will be in one of the nice suburbs.

It's looking like 550 miles and about 8.5 hours for me.

It'll be the furthest my 54 has gone on one trip, but I've put over 7,000 miles on my car since I returned it to the road, so I'm pretty confident in its abilities.

We currently have the hotel quoted at around $150 per night, but I think we'll get them down below that.

And yes...it's still just a bit early to start telling the details, but we'll have a great itinerary. Our sponsoring club member has some excellent connections in the area and has some things/perks lined up for us that are almost too good to be true.

I just checked it out on Google maps and it looks like 555 miles one way and it says it will take me 8.5 also.

Oh boy that's striking distance and puts some pressure on getting the car "road worthy".
