Here's my 66 F100. It's a straight six (240), three on the column, short-box.

I bought it from the family of the original owner about 4 years ago, then sold it...then bought it back today. :D

So that makes me the second and the fourth owner.

It's a survivor in the truest sense of the word. Original paint, original engine, transmission, interior...everything. Very little rust, and what's there can be easily fixed.

I plan to keep the old paint intact and slowly do what's called a "sympathetic restoration". Which is basically keeping the original paint in place and fixing anything mechanical that needs attention. I may pull off the bed at some point and repaint the frame, etc.

But for now, I'll just drive it occasionally and work the bugs out that have come from sitting in a garage for the last three years.

Here's a video of it as I drove it home from East Texas.

Congratulations on getting the truck back,I thought you had lost your mind when you sold it,,,you need to keep that truck this time!

Sometime in the future I hope to drag my '65 out of the barn and get it back on the road.

Thought y'all might like to see a before and after on yesterday's project on the 66 F100.

I got all situated with my cheater bar and bottle of penetrating oil, and was ready for the task of removing the nasty old rear bumper when I discovered, much to my chagrin that, in addition to being bolted on, it was welded onto the bottom of the frame rails.

No worries...out came the torch and I cut the sucker off.

Then I mounted up the contour bumper.

I think it's a noticeable improvement. Next is to repaint the FORD letters on the tailgate and then try to rub some life back in the old Sahara Beige paint.
