hi, anyone know the freeze out plug diameter or dorman or equivalent part # for the 239 block and heads? I have not removed any yet. are the block and heads the same size?
being the 239 is in a class by itself for a lot of parts, I'm hoping the freeze out plugs are a standard size.
thank you for the help
Dave k

My vernier calipers show the hole, no plug, as just under 1 3/4 but it is hard to get a good angle.

If they are not leaking I would leave them be.

Look up John Mummert and give him a call. He can tell you the size. He has a set that he sells. He he can't help you, look up Ted Eaton, www.eatonbalancing.com . Both are easy to talk with

Another source is www.y-Blocksforever.com You will have to join and then post the question. Good source for engine information.

I made some inquiries about the expansion plugs and they say they are 1 3/4 for all Y Blocks
