I’ve searched around and can’t seem to find this on any ford. Looks like a crossbar that fits onto the bumper guards on my rear bumper. Now I’ve seen grill guards on the front but nothing like this. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

it will take some work on your part as it is not a ford part.probably a thing from jc whitney western auto type thing by saying not a ford part I mean not made for a ford by aftermarket.

Could it be possible that it is actually for the front and the previous owner placed it on the rear for some reason? I’m not sure if the spacing is different. Just bizarre to me.

Maybe the owner got it from another car.

This '54 has them front and rear https://www.gaaclassiccars.com/vehicles ... mline-club They may have been a dealer installed option. I ran across this when I used this search also ran across bumper guards and some bumpers for sale. https://www.google.com/search?biw=1343& ... eJoGdwfFUM:
