Thanks for the replies guys.
Yeah....this thing is probably going to court, and yes....they've been made well aware that they're in for it. But heck, they're a $13 Billion corporation and they squash people like me all the time with their legions of lawyers. I guess what's sad about it all is that the roughly $7500 that they owe me is less than they spend on an evening's worth of food at a small sales meeting....but for me, it means the difference in whether or not I get to buy COBRA coverage for my sick 4 year old.
Not to get on too much of a soapbox here, but dang guys, quit buying from mega-corporations if you have any choice. I mean for instance, if it's the difference between buying from Lowe's or Ace...drive to the Ace. And, if it's the difference between buying from Walgreens or the local IGA pharmacy...drive to the local guy. These mega-corporations are in bed with the big political machine that is running this country into the ground and they all need to be overthrown. They chew up people like a wood chipper....and could care less about the carnage.
As for the 302/AOD...I may end up keeping it in the end, because I'm not going to give it away for a few hundred dollars.
It may all just come down to us not having insurance for a month and letting the bills fall behind. However, I can probably, over time, dig us out of whatever hole we get into.
My teaching gig starts on the 13th of August and I spent this morning securing employment at one of the local OReillys parts houses. I'll be working evenings and weekends for OReillys until I get my masters degree finished in a couple years....at which time I'll try to get a higher paying job as a Principal.
All that having been said...I do have an item of interest stowed away that you true gearheads may salivate over that I'll let go for an even $900.
It's a mobile lab station that was used on display once, at a convention. It has a removalble peg board/whiteboard and a sink that can be used as a parts washer. The top is solid epoxy and the wood is oak. This thing is first class, and, optioned the way it is, would retail for well over $2,000. I've been storing it until I build a shop, but I can certainly live without it.
Here's a link to check it out: https://www.schooloutfitters.com/catalo ... id/PRO3729
It would be just over-the-top, wicked cool in a garage....it rolls around....has a sink, drawers, electricity hookups, etc, and is made of first class materials.
