I got my transmission back from rebuild. Unknown to me the bellhousing was broken and missing a piece so I drug out one of the spares. I must have robbed a squirrel of it's home.

Today I poured a little gas into the carb, stuck a hose into a gas can, wired the distributor to a 6 volt battery, jumped the starter with a 12 volt and fired up the engine for the first time. Not bad for static timing, it started pretty fast. I didn't run it long since it has no coolant, but I'm happy. Pulled it back off the frame to continue the body work.

It is slow going, but making progress. Fender skirt opening needed a lot of work. Lousy aftermarket sheet metal.

I remember all the sandblasting, I used 33 one hundred pound bags of sand and untold hours, have I mentioned I hate sand blasting.

I'm not crazy about it either, or the wire wheel for that matter.
