Thanks Danny.

The thing is an absolute beast down in the Corpus Christi area. Here in the Houston metro, things are still pretty mild. The real tale for us here will be rainfall, which they're predicting will fall in nearly epic amounts. Like all tropical cyclones however, predicting them is always a gamble.

I'll keep y'all posted on how the "World Headquarters" of the '54 Ford Club of America makes out. I'm not super concerned at this point about things up here, 40 miles north of Houston. My real concern is a cousin and my wife's sister who live in Ingleside, TX which is literally in the bullseye of this nasty CAT 4 storm. It looks like they're getting the brunt of it right now.

The sister-in-law and her kids fled to Austin to stay with another sister-in-law, but my dad's cousin is a 70 year old woman who refused to leave her house (a log cabin that her dad built in the 1940's). I haven't been able to raise her on the phone in a couple hours.

Truly extraordinary video at the link below....made as the eyewall made landfall.

Go to the 55 minute mark to see it get really bad.

My home has made it through the flooding so far.

So many around me are not as fortunate.

Hope everyone stays safe down there, and keeps their Ford's dry.

Thanks for all of yall's concern. Sorry for the delayed response. I've been a busy man.

My family and home are fine, and came through without any damage. The greater Houston area as well as my immediate area were not so fortunate. The majority of my friends in the area suffered damage to their homes. Their families however, are fine.

My work was flooded and I've spent the last several days there (near the Houston Ship Channel) wet vaccing water, ripping out carpets, etc. Our services are critical for the proper functioning of the major oil refineries and we simply had to get up and running. After much hard work, we were finally able to do so as the week came to a close.

What is more impressive than the storm and the flooding is the incredible outpouring of love and support that I've witnessed from neighbor to neighbor and from those outside the Houston area. It is truly humbling. I've lost track of the acts of bravery and kindness that I've witnessed.

Everyone from the Federal Government to the State and Local Governments to the average citizen has gone above and beyond the call of duty. It restores one's faith in mankind.
