New comer here with a '54 Crestline four-door father/son project. My 6 year old actually spotted the car at a garage sale and asked to stop and look at it. He fell in love instantly! I kinda brushed him off and then the begging started. Every day for a month "Daddy please, please can we see if that car is still there?". Finally, my wife actually gave in and suggested we go take a look and low and behold....it was still there. My son (6 years old) inquired about the price and he was told "for you....$1,000". My son says "l saved $369, will you take that?" He was told no, so my son says "how 'bout $500?" and the guy says "how can I say no? It's yours!" I put in the balance andxwd brought it home.

It's an awesome story I could tell all day, but now we're gonna need help and I think I came to the right place. I look forward to this new adventure!

Man,what a story, a 6 year old talking his parents into old car, sure beats my story of being 12 and buying a 1932 Ford.

Welcome to the wonderful world of '54 Fords.

It's great that Mom is on board as that really makes it a family project. You have about 10 years to get it ready for him to drive, but take it from an older Dad, it will pass quickly, but you will still have the memories of time spent together.
