I have a 54 Meteor Skyliner with a 3 speed standard and flathead V8. Overall the car is in decent shape. Most of the original wiring is intact. Right now I'm tryin to wire the signal lights in properly. Should one wire be tied into the brake light wire? Also I have 6 wires on the signal light switch and 7 coming out of the steering column. The lights work but was previously wired without a flasher and a lot was spliced together. If anyone could help me that would be great.

a couple of questions do the wires still have the colour on them as this will be not only a help but pretty well imperative. now having said that does it still have the distribution block that the wires plug into.it will be on the left side under dash by the top of the kick panel.it is specific to the signal wiring along with the tail and front park lights.post what you find if no one else jumps in I will try to help.you do have a 6 volt flasher?

I could not make out the colors so I removed the whole switch with wires Intact. I have a 52-54 ford passenger car manual with a diagram so I can match up with the picture pretty easy now. Does the switch get its power through the ignition switch (bat)? Do one of th wires need to go to the circuit breaker or is the inline fuse from the flasher unit serve for the whole switch? Yes I have the original terminal block with 8 inlets ( I believe there is 2 pairs though so the indicators can be tied in with front turn signals) thank you! I also have a 6 volt flasher yes

without looking at it firsthand you should go through the fuse.you said the manual showed the harness wiring not sure why it did not show the power wiring.you seem to have a grasp of what to do.I am pretty sure that they were an add on accessory probably dealer installed.that means they wired it to suit themselves.not to say it was wrong.I would run the power from the accessory post.
