Working on the aprons. Bent the staples apart and replaced the rubber. I found the ones from C&G are a bit different so had to do some trimming.

I got frustrated with the staples and decided to drill holes and use small stainless button head screws and lock nuts, I applaud you for doing it the way Ford had intended with the staples.

The staples can be difficult. I sure would like to see the tool that was used to put them in. I cheated a bit by drilling through the rubber with a 1/16 drill bit (the smallest I own) with the rubber against the metal for placement. The bit is a tiny bit larger than the holes in the metal which made inserting the staples back into the metal easier.

One apron finished, the other getting there.

Huge milestone today. Bodywork finished!! First coat of primer, at the least, on everything, then ran out of primer. Looking to finish primer and shoot some color on the doorjambs, inside of hood, trunk lid, doors and and fenders this week. Exciting!

Ready to wire it up. We decided to paint the entire interior and not worry about the stock look of red oxide.
