Any chance we can get a running total of members who have signed up? Since the number 7 has already been published and 20 is the minimum it would be helpful for our summer plans to know what will transpire.

I received another reservation yesterday (Michigan) after the newsletter came out. That brings us to 8. My gut feel is that we will hit our numbers as many times people wait a bit. I would ask that all of you pass the word to members to encourage them to sign up. I can tell you that the time spent together is really fun.

I enjoyed Fredericksburg and didn't have the car with me. This year I will, even if the restoration isn't complete.

Keeping a close eye on the coronavirus situation as well as registrations themselves. The AACA has canceled many, many of their meets. Spring Carlisle has moved theirs into the end of May and in my mind it is not going to happen. We do have a little bit of wiggle room in that we’re not scheduled until September. However there’s a lot of onsite planning that must be accomplished beforehand. I need to see more registrations come in to make it worthwhile. That’s just being downright honest. I’m pretty certain we will be making a decision within 30 days or so.

Thanks. It sounds like cheap gas and a good time isn't a big draw so far.

I have had to cancel the 20th. Annual All Deuce Run scheduled for June, I spent a lot of time on the road planning the out of state route primarily running through the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina & Tennessee, I had arranged overnight lodging in the quaint town of Gatlinburg and a great BBQ restaurant a short walk from the motel, I had the 125 mile route ending at the picturesque Dillard House in the North Carolina mountains.

It sucks to go through all the work and preparation, the expense of travel, overnight lodging, food & gas and then having a 20th anniversary T-shirt designed by a graphic artist which it ain't exactly cheap, fortunately I was waiting until I got a total head count before having them printed.

This pandemic has turned all our lives upside down and the end is not in sight, I agonized about cancelling the run back in March but I know I did the right thing.

Andy, I know how hard you have worked on this convention and it is shaping up to be the best yet but with the current out look it doesn't look too good.

What ever you decide I have now doubt you will make the right decision. stay safe my friend. Danny

Thanks Danny - Don, Alana and I are currently discussing this even as I write this. We have a slight advantage in that it is September as opposed to June, but the fact of the matter is I don’t believe it is going to clear up enough by then to assure safety for our members. Additionally, I have to make several trips ahead of time to plan the event.
Our AACA group had to cancel this year’s Dunkirk Flea Market. Spring Carlisle postponed the event until the end of May and they are simply dreaming.
So sorry about your event as well. But when we hear numbers of 100,000 - 200,000+ that could die, it certainly makes some choices easier than others.
We will make an announcement when we’ve given up all hope for success. Sigh.....

Unfortunately, due to the Corona Virus situation, we have made the decision to cancel the 2020 '54 Ford Convention scheduled for this September in Cleveland, Ohio.

While September may seem like a long way off, there is much planning that goes into such an event. Thus the need for the decision at this time.

I will provide more updates at a later time. Refunds will be mailed to those that have previously registered.

I know you worked your tail off Andy but IMHO you made the right decision.
