Hello everyone, I recently joined the site although I have been watching it for years. I currently have a 1954 Ford that I got in a trade many years ago. It's been in storage for many years. I now find out that the title can't be found by the original owner. Formerly registered in Mississippi, the Air Force Colonel who originally owned it traded it for work on his house, that's how I got it. When we did a VIN search, nothing comes up. I'm going to sell it soon because we are moving out of state and can't take it with us. Any ideas??

A number of states have a procedure if a title is missing - check this out at your state DMV. Got a bill of sale?

I do have a bill of sale from the Colonel. He told me recently via Facebook that he thinks it was last titled in Mississippi and I will check with them to see if they have a record.

There area lot of states that will not accept a bill of sale South Carolina is one such state, without a title you can't register a car or truck here.
